Today's Stress-Free Friday post is all about including your man in the wedding plans.
COMMUNICATE – the number one tip I can give you is to communicate BEFORE you start planning. Sit down and discuss what aspects of your wedding day are most important to both of you, what you can do without, and share the vision you each have for your perfect wedding day.
Julia and Luigi were married at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church - the cutest church in Oakville with the kindest Priest I ever did meet. And since the church is right near the waterfront, we headed there for some wedding party photos before driving to Edwards Gardens in Toronto for more portraits of the newly married couple and their sibs.
You may be asking - Is is necessary to have a Flower Girl and Ring Bearer at my wedding? What if I have only one Flower Girl I want to include? What if I have too many children to include? Do they all have to stay for dinner?
Ok – breath. Not a big deal. Like I always say – it’s YOUR wedding, DO YOU.

Jessica and Isaac got married on a rainy spring day at THE MANOR by Peter and Pauls in Kettleby Ontario. This was the first time I had shot at The Manor and it is such a lovely venue. Rain or Shine! Despite the rain the sun was shining so there was still a warm glow over the entire day.
When Kristen and Marc contacted me to shoot their wedding at Monora Park in Orangeville, I was really excited for several reasons. 1. Its a quaint but adorable venue. Sort of like a hall, but without the feel of a hall, if that makes any sense. The main room is surrounded by windows and a balcony to outdoors. Then down below is another deck to hang out on during cocktail hour, with fields and hills and woods.
Many couples are opting for an Unplugged Ceremony. Not the entire wedding (hey, those dance party candids are always amazing!), but just the ceremony. The part of the day that means the most as you are actually becoming a married couple. I can't tell you how much I adore these two! Not only are they just awesome people, Liz is also my cousin and my son's Godmother. These two got engaged after many many years together, and we are all just so excited and can't wait for the wedding in January! I should have blogged this engagement session months ago, and honestly cannot believe I forgot! I met this family about 2 years ago when Ashley was pregnant with baby Max. They purchased my Grow with Me Package (4 sessions over the baby's first year). I love when families go this route as we really get to know one another and at the end of the year, all the favourite images get put into a custom designed album for you to look back on forever.
Im just taking a moment to toot my own horn as I found out this emotional images of my best friend and her daughter, Emme, finished in the Top 100 image for the 2017 Shoot and Share Photo Contest! Out of over 9000 images in the "Emotion and Excitement" category! Yay!
This is one of my favourite images. We were playing on the beach and Emme had a little girl moment and needed her Mama to console her. Who knew me snapping the camera at that moment would become one of my favourite images ever.

I LOVE all of the trends thatI am seeing - they are interactive and fun and entertaining - all things you want your wedding to be! Weddings are not just for your parents to hang out with their friends anymore! They are a whole day dedicated to the couple and their most favourite people - a day to dance or party and celebrate and share in the love of the couple! That being said, every couple is different and many still stick to the more "traditional' wedding trends, but for those of you looking for some new ideas, here is a list of some recent trends I have been seeing (and LOVE!)
