You would never know that they were all Freeeeezing cold in these photos - it looks like a beautiful fall day, perfect for a hike around the Forks of the Credit Conservation area in Caledon!
Christine and Tony met sailing so it only seemed natural to shoot engagement pictures at the beach. They chose Cherry Beach in Toronto, and then we headed to their home with awesome views overlooking Toronto skyline and the CN Tower. They live right in the Distillery District so we popped down to the streets to end the session
I am so honoured to be chosen as 1 of 50 photographers across the land to select and photograph a child for the upcoming edition of Beauty Revived Magazine - 50 Beautiful Children. The magazine can be ordered here and there will also be a blog post coming in October that I will link!
I knew right away who I wanted to photograph and tell her story - Ruby.
Here are some quick tips if you plan to do a session with coloured Holi Powder.
Tip #1 - Just Buy It! At first I was not able to find it in stores, only for a really high price on Amazon, so I googled and found a ton of recipes online for DIY Holi Powder. FIVE days later, I made about 6 bags of it and let me tell you, it was a P.I.T.A. Plus, I followed a recipe that used flour, and flour does not stick when its dry, so when we threw it, it did practically nothing. Good thing about 3 days before the shoot my friend messaged me and offered to give me a ton of bags of the real stuff. Buy the real stuff, it sticks to skin and is super vibrant and awesome!
Many couples are opting for an Unplugged Ceremony. Not the entire wedding (hey, those dance party candids are always amazing!), but just the ceremony. The part of the day that means the most as you are actually becoming a married couple. Read more to find out why unplugged ceremonies are big on the to-do list and how you can politely ask your guests to enjoy your moment
I can't tell you how much I adore these two! Not only are they just awesome people, Liz is also my cousin and my son's Godmother. These two got engaged after many many years together, and we are all just so excited and can't wait for the wedding in January! I should have blogged this engagement session months ago, and honestly cannot believe I forgot! Then this week it was featured on the Brides and Wedding Magazine Blog which reminded me to also feature it!
It was a cold and blistery morning. Minus 12 degrees (celsius) to be exact. But Jenna and Rory showed up to their engagement session at Palgrave Pond with smiles and coffee and a cute dog named Rosco. This pond is the most incredible place in the winter.
And to all you Moms, I am you. I know you worry about losing "those last 10 lbs" or getting the perfect haircut, or waiting until you feel better about something else in your life, but let's be honest here - there will ALWAYS be something, some reason to say "maybe later" and put off booking those family photos.
Mara and Adam met us at the ferry terminal to head over to the island for an evening golden hour engagement session. I think Mara told me about 10 times before how "awkward" they were in front of the camera, but honestly, I think they rocked it!
This has to be one of my favourite engagement shoots to date! Well, I love them all but I especially loved Sarah and Justin's enthusiasm toward the event and willingness to dress up and play the part!
Who better to inspire me and let me create than one of my longest and dearest friends, a true loving soul filled with wanderlust and dreams? My photographer brain wanted to do a fun organic maternity shoot for awhile now and when I found out Miss A was expecting I knew she was the one to model for me. Always up for adventure this one is. :) And honest, it wasn't even a stretch to her true personality and style and I think we created some beautiful authentic images that she can share one day with her sweet cherub, Baby N.
Thank you, Ash, for always being an inspiration and going along with me and my ideas without question.
xoxo, Love Bee
film. My first love.
A nice mix of client and personal photos for this new favourites post :)
What did I learn? I need to shoot more film and not be afraid to use it, especially at sessions! They always turn out!
Mix of Portra 400, Portra 800, Fuji 400h, Tri-x
The weather was mild, the mood was festive, the kids were listening...what else can you ask for? I spent the morning with the Waltons at Drysdale Farm and it was a perfect morning for family photos! What a lovely family
I cannot WAIT for August when I get to hang with these two love birds again at their wedding!! Only this time I hope it is a lot warmer!
They braved the COLD winter for this session. Did I tell you this February was the coldest February on record in over 100 years?! Seriously.
But as I told them at 730 in the morning when we met up at the Pond...."your love will keep you warm".
We shot at a super cool outdoor pond in Palgrave, right off of Highway 50. There was even a guy out there at 7am clearing the ice, getting it ready for the day's visitors. So cool. I will definitely be going here with my family in the winters coming.
You can see their fusion video here as well!
