Life after 40 and an Unofficial Announcement | Alliston Ontario Photographer

For years I heard people say, “life gets better after 40"!”

I was not sure I believed them. I turned 40 and was still afraid to even say it out loud. No big “40 and fabulous” balloons for me! In my mind, I was (still am) only 27!

Until It wasn’t a big deal anymore. The last year I have evolved and grown and although it is still a process, I no longer feel weird about saying I am a 40 year old woman.

I think it has to do with maturity. I also think it has to do with all the inner work I have done the last few years with my therapist, my coaches, my women friends who let me dig deep with them. It is work to evolve this way. And I still have moments of fear and doubt and shame about my age. (Why, i have no idea!)

But what I have learned is that being a 40 year old woman is kind of fun. Its liberating. I have more time for me, now that my kids are becoming more independent. I am now able and willing to invest in MYSELF.

And the best part - my confidence has grown sooo much. Its easier to say NO, easier to walk away from things and people that do not make me happy, easier to bounce back after stress.

And guess what? For the first time since my twenties - easier to get in front of a camera!

I am still uncomfortable, still nervous, and still do not LOVE all the photos afterward - but for once, I LOVE most of them. And I have fun taking them!

Now I want YOU to feel the same! It has become my mission to get more women over 40 in front of MY camera! To feel liberated and empowered. To feel BEAUTIFUL. To have an experience like no other - getting pampered with hair and makeup and then to leave my studio and want to come back for more photos! And of course, to tell all your friends!

With that said - I feel another transition. The transition to luxury Women’s Photography.

So I guess this may be my official announcement? I am not sure but I have been busy getting a studio ready to go so I guess so!

Will you be my first client?
