You never know what kind of weather you are going to get in the fall, it can be a gamble. But when you have such a cool venue as Drysdale Farm in Alliston, ON (otherwise known as the Christmas tree farm!), it really does not matter the weather. Plus the indoor location is a huge greenhouse with a white ceiling, which is a Photographer’s dream! We love white ceilings to bounce our flash and lights, and create a natural light source indoors. (just a tip if you are venue searching!)
Jacqueline and Kevin got married at Woodington Lake Golf Course in Tottenham, Ontario. Such a beautiful area of Ontario, and they had wonderful summer weather. The ceremony was outdoors in front of the lake. The golf course has this really unique area for outdoor ceremonies, with layers of stone landings, so it is almost like you are a guest at a theatre performance with the Bride and Groom on stage! The backdrop is beautiful tall trees, a lake and rolling hills.
The wedding of Tamarra and Ben, held at McMichael Art Gallery in Kleinburg, Ontario, was more than just about them. It wa about two families coming together. There were tears of joy, even from myself and I only met these two families that day! I could feel the love and kindness in everyone in attendance and I still feel it in my heart when I think about Tamarra and Ben’s wedding day.
manda and Jesse, it was so fun to get to know you both, and your friends and families! It was such a beautiful wedding day - the weather, the atmosphere, the venue (the food was delicious!). Such a perfect fall day in Ontario at Hernder Estate Winery in NIagara-on-the-Lake.
Maggie and Derek chose Meadow View Gardens in Roseneath (which is outside Coburg Ontario) for their wedding venue and it was such a lovely place!
Nothing beats a wedding in an apple orchard in the fall. Especially one as charming as Grandma Lambes in Meaford, Ontario. Come for the apple picking, stay for a wedding! (And I do have to say, I may have picked an apple or two and they were DELISH!)
A few years ago I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Emilie and Chris, the sweetest young couple I have ever met! They had an intimate wedding in Emilie’s backyard and I had such a blast getting to know their friends and families.
Fast forward to this year when Emilie’s sister, Caleigh asked me to photographing her engagement and wedding to Gavin. Of course! Nothing beats a referral from a past couple. It is the ultimate compliment.
Alanna and Jonathan got married in Ireland (I wish i was there!) but afterward got to dress up again for a fun Toronto reception with friends and family! We met at their favourite Toronto coffee shop, Roosters, for a quick snack, then headed to a local pub for drinks with friends all before heading to the Rosehill Lounge for a really fun reception!
It is not often that I take a million portraits on a wedding day. Yes, we take some, but the focus is usually on the story, the love, the emotion, the real moments of the day.
However, when you have some fun light to play with, and a GORGEOUS bride like Christina who is just so quirky and fun and photogenic, well…you take a million more portraits than normal.
