It was a beautiful winter Sunday in February when Kim and Tommy got married at The Doctor's House in Kleinburg, Ontario. I have shot weddings at this venue a few times now and each time I love exploring and finding new interesting places to photograph the Bride and Groom. This time we found a little nook indoors en route to the Chapel for some cute portraits! When you get married in winter you need to be prepared for the cold, because i WILL make you do a few photos outdoors - not all of them, but you will appreciate some natural light I promise! So make sure to come prepared with a shawl or sweater you can wear between photos! Or just have your new spouse warm you up - that works too!
Back to Kimberly and Thomas - I met Kim about 10 years ago through our mutual love of synchronized figure skating - we were on the same team for a couple of years with the Mississauga Ice Precise skating team. We had a blast skating to some tango music, and became friends and I was incredibly honoured when she asked me to photograph her wedding day. Nothing means more to me than when a friend trusts me to capture the biggest day of their life.
How they met - (from the Bride) "Tommy and I met via Ok Cupid! He sent me a message of "cute ;)", I responded and the rest is history" - how sweet is that?!
Some cute details of their wedding day - The ribbon on the flower girl's bouquets are from the wedding veil of Kim's Mom and the fabric of Tommy's Mom's dress!
Kim chose simple greenery for her wedding day. The bouquets were bunches of green as was the decor and details in their stationery and more. Accents were a neutral beige colour. It was simple and beautiful. Overall, it was just a wonderful day!
