Part 3 - Heirloom Albums and Fine Art

How do you want to remember your wedding? Of course we hope its imbedded into our minds forever but as time goes on some of those memories may start to fade.  Its great we hire photographers to capture these moments forever, and you may want to have your photographer design you a beautiful heirloom album that can be passed down to your children and grandchildren.  As we know, the times they are a changin' and digital files may be obsolete in a decade.

Some things to look for when viewing album samples

Close the album and look at the pages. Are they equal in size, thickness and shape?

Open the album and take a look at how it opens and shuts. Do the pages fall flat or do they curve or look warped in any way?

Are the images peeling away from the pages, or seem loose?

Do the images match what you see on the photographer's website and portfolio? Are the colours similar or do they look different as if not printed correctly?

What kind of material is the album cover? There are many options from linen to leather to faux leather and more. You may choose! But check out the samples provided and see if there is evidence of wear and tear on the fabric, is is ripped or frayed? Do the corners look secure?

Ask the photographer where they order albums from and check out the reviews and website yourself! The photographer should be open with that information and proud to say who they purchase from!  Love Bee Photography's albums come from Dekora Album, which are hand-made individually per order, and based in Canada which is even better!

Does the photographer design the album for you and do you have a say in the final product layout?

Are you allowed to upgrade the size of album or page type? (there are always many options from thin to thick pages, lustre to glossy finish, and many more - if you are the type to get overwhelmed, trust your photographer to choose the best options for you!)

Outside of albums, what other options are available? Do they offer large wall prints or canvases, albums for parents/grandparents (and if so are they exact copies of the Wedding album or customized), fine art products such as torn edge prints or more?
